Everything you need to know about pool maintenance, water chemistry, and working with Placid Pools.

For most residential pools in Anguilla's climate, we recommend a weekly service visit. The combination of heat, UV exposure, and heavy use means water chemistry can shift quickly. Commercial and high-use pools may benefit from more frequent visits. We'll assess your pool and recommend the right schedule.
A standard visit includes surface skimming, wall and step brushing, floor vacuuming, waterline cleaning, skimmer and pump basket emptying, filter pressure check, and full water chemistry testing and adjustment. You will receive a written service report after every visit.
Green water is caused by algae growth, which is typically triggered by low chlorine levels, high phosphates, or inadequate circulation. Our technicians can diagnose the cause quickly and apply targeted treatment to clear the water and prevent the algae from returning.
It depends on the treatment applied. After a routine chemical balance adjustment, the pool is generally safe to swim in within one to two hours. After shock treatment, we recommend waiting until chlorine levels return to normal, which we will confirm for you.
Yes. We work with hotels, resorts, villa complexes, and community facilities across Anguilla. Commercial pools have specific regulatory requirements and higher usage demands, and our team is trained to meet those standards.
Contact us as soon as possible. A non-functioning pump means water is not circulating, which rapidly leads to water quality problems. We offer equipment repair and diagnostics. In the meantime, avoid swimming until the pump is restored and water chemistry is verified.
Yes. We carefully manage chemical dosing to use only what is necessary, avoiding overuse that can be harmful to the environment and to swimmers. We adjust our approach to each pool's specific needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all treatment.
Simply contact us by phone or email and we'll arrange an initial assessment visit. After seeing your pool we'll recommend a service frequency and provide you with a clear, straightforward quote. There are no complicated contracts — just reliable, professional service on a schedule that works for you.
